Days.
Thursday, Friday, Happy Days. The Weekend comes, my cycle hums,
Ready to race to you.

Goodbye gray skies, Hello Blue, 'cause nothing can hold me when I hold you.

Hello sunshine, goodbye rain, she’s wearing my high school ring on her chain.
She’s my steady, I’m her man,
I’m gonna love her all I can.
Gonna cruise her round the town, show everybody what I’ve found.
Rock’n’roll with all my friends. Hopin’ the music never ends.
These Happy Days are yours and mine (oh Happy Days)

The theme was as popular as
the show and charted all the way up to #5 on the Top 40 list in 1976.
The only Top 40 hit that Truett Pratt and Jerry McClain ever had almost wasn’t. When
Happy Days was introduced to viewers it used Bill Haley’s Rock Around The Clock as the theme. The rights to use Haley’s hit were revoked early on in the first season and so this theme was written.
Of
course, Rock Around the Clock charted as well, but back in the 1950's.
Rock Around the Clock
was #1 for 8 weeks in 1955.

An
original Happy Days lunch box.
Rock Around The Clock
The original Rock-n-Roll
song by Bill Haley and the Comets was used for the first few episodes of
the show.
One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock,
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rock,
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rock,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight.
Put your glad rags on and join me, hon,
We'll have some fun when the clock strikes one,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When the clock strikes two, three and four,
If the band slows down we'll yell for more,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When the chimes ring five, six and seven,
We'll be right in seventh heaven.
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When it's eight, nine, ten, eleven too,
I'll be goin' strong and so will you.
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When the clock strikes twelve, we'll cool off then,
Start a rockin' round the clock again.
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
