Central Florida 1877 |
|
|
This is a map from 1877. It shows Orlando as well as it's sister town, Enterprise, the Volusia county seat. It continues to show Lake Apopka as Lake Aha-popka but correctly shows the St. Johns River and the other lakes of Central Florida. It also appears that the Econlockhatchee River, a tributary of the St. Johns which flows through Orange County is identified as the Ecouticahechee River. Detail of a map of Florida that was, "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1877 by Asher and Adams."
